The TCU men's golf program possessed a two-stroke lead after the first round of action at the Braveheart Classic hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif.

The second round of competition was cut short due to darkness, but will resume before the final round of action on Tuesday morning.

"The guys played really hard today," said TCU head men's golf coach Bill Montigel. "The course was really tough, and the conditions were brutal this afternoon. It was extremely windy, and all things considered, our guys stuck in there and hung together and played through it."

Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) was the top golfer for the Horned Frogs in the windy conditions on Monday after as the TCU sophomore notched a first-round tally of 75 en route to tying for fourth overall.

Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) and James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) both found themselves in the top-10 of the Braveheart Classic as the TCU duo finished with an 18-hole score of 77 while Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) finished one stroke back of his teammates with a score of 78 en route to tying for 15th overall.

Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) had a rough first day of action as the TCU golfer notched a first-round score of 85 en route to tying for 73rd overall.

TCU finished with an 18-hole score of 307 while UC Riverside (309), Cal Poly (311), Kansas State (314) and Gonzaga (315) rounded out the top-five finishers at the Braveheart Classic.
