Frogs finish fourth overall at Braveheart Classic

The TCU men's golf program finished fourth overall after notching a 54-hole tally of 912 (307-306-299) at the Braveheart Classic hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif., on Tuesday. Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) was the top golfer for the Horned Frogs at the Braveheart Classic as the TCU senior finished ninth overall with a three-round score of 227 (78-75-74) - including a 74 on the fourth and final round of competition. James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) finished a pair of strokes behind his teammate as the Zionsville, Ind., native notched a three-round tally of 229 (77-78-74) en route to finishing tied for 13th overall. Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) finished a stroke behind Sacheck as the TCU sophomore tied for 17th overall with a 54-hole score of 230 (75-77-78). Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) notched a 27th-place showing at the Braveheart Classic as the TCU junior collected a tournament score of 233 (77-76-80) while Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) finished with a score of 241 (85-83-73) en route to tying for 71st overall - but had the best round of the tournament for the Frogs with a 73 on the final 18 holes of action. Cal Poly came away with the tournament championship with a three-round tally of 900 while UC Riverside (908), UC Santa Barbara (910), TCU (912) and Kansas State (918) rounded out the top five at the Braveheart Classic.
The Frogs will be back in action at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic at the Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno, Calif., beginning on March 10th.
