Former TCU standout J.J. Killeen currently possesses the lead at the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championships on the Nationwide Tour as he recorded a three-under-par 69 following the second round of competition on Friday.

Through the first 36 holes of action, Killeen leads the first by five strokes as he accumulated a two-round tally of 10-under-par 134 midway through the Nationwide Tour's $600,000 event. The former Frog golfer established a new 36-hole record with a score of 134 - which broke Jeff Quinney's mark of 135 set during the 2006 event.

Killeen holds a five-stroke advantage over a pair of golfers in Aron Price and Joe Daley and opened the biggest 36-hole lead on the Nationwide Tour since Kevin Na collected a six-stroke advantage at the 2006 Mark Christopher Charity Classic.

A former All-American at TCU, Killeen was cited as the Conference USA Golfer of the Year following his senior campaign in 2005 and was selected to the United States Amateur to compete against Japan.

The third round of competition at the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championships will be held on Saturday afternoon.
