POST-GAME QUOTES
UNLV-TCU
March 1, 2008
Fort Worth, Texas--Daniel-Meyer Coliseum

Head Coach Jeff Mittie
Opening statement
"This game had parts that I really liked, like our rebounding, then parts I didn't like, which were taking care of the ball, and some parts where I didn't feel we were as mentally sharp as we needed to be. Our rebounding was an area we really talked about, that if we did, that we would have a lot of opportunities, and I thought we did that."

On UNLV's pressure
"This is the first time we've seen pressure. While I don't want to make excuses, we did have trouble adjusting to their pressure early in this game. We only shot 40 percent in the first half, which we had opportunities to shoot better. We still had a lot of turnovers in the second half, but you also saw us take advantage of some opportunities."

On TCU's success at the free-throw line
"W were going to get (to the free-throw line) a lot because we were in the bonus early. We kept telling the players `We're in the bonus. Let's be aggressive.' When you convert on that it really hurts the other team, so it was important. I didn't realize we shot it that well, but we shot a lot of them and made a lot of them."

On redshirt freshman forward Emily Carter
"I thought Emily was really getting squared up (to the basket) and locked in. She had a couple deep ones, too. She's a good shooter, and if we can find ways to get her open, she's going to knock most of the shots down."

On TCU's execution
"I think we executed pretty well. We had a lot of good defensive rebounds. That helped us get out on the break. That's one way that I got one or two of my 3's, just running up the floor and our guards doing a good job penetrating and kicking. We were just moving well, all together on offense, towards the end of the half, and that did carry over into the second half, as well."

On the team's play down the stretch of the season
"We are playing really well right now. Our next game will be a little emotional, because it is Senior Night. But we know that the next couple of weeks, we just need to keep playing hard and playing together going into conference tournament play. We need to come in focused and we can then come out successful."

On TCU's bench play
"We play really well in practice together. When we step on the court we know each other's tendencies. If someone is in foul trouble, we know that anyone can come in and play well."
