ALBUQUERQUE -- Keyed by freshman Melissa Loh's even-par 73, TCU's final-round 297 was the low score on the day as the Horned Frogs finished fourth at the Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship in Albuquerque.

The 27th-ranked Frogs, with three freshmen and a sophomore in their five-player lineup, were looking to defend their 2007 league title. Over the final 36 holes, TCU's 599 trailed only New Mexico's 590.

The No. 22 and host Lobos won the team championship by 19 strokes over No. 30 BYU. The tournament was played on the University of New Mexico Championship Course.

Four of the five Frogs dropped their score each day of the tournament.

Loh, a native of Singapore, tied for sixth with an 8-over 227. Her 73 was one stroke off a career-best round. It was the second time in the last three tournaments that a freshman had the low 54-hole score for the Frogs. Allyson Ferguson led the way at last month's Betsy Rawls Invitational.

Fellow freshman Prisela Campbell carded a final-round 74. The Fort Worth native (Fossil Ridge High School) finished in a tie for 15th with a 233.

Ferguson and sophomore Valentine Derrey had 75s. Derrey tied for 13th. She tied Loh for team-high honors with three birdies on the day.

Carrie Morris, TCU's lone senior, carded a 76.

New Mexico's Jodi Ewart became the first golfer in Mountain West Conference history to win back-to-back individual titles. The Lobo sophomore shot a final round 1-under 72 to finish even par at 219 for a two-stroke victory.

The Frogs, in search of a 13th consecutive NCAA postseason appearance, will await the April 28 announcement of this year's regional field.
