Frogs open play at Bryan National Collegiate

BROWN SUMMIT, N.C. -- Valentine Derrey shot a 74 to lead TCU as the Horned Frogs are in 14th place after Friday's opening round of the Bryan Park National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C. Derrey is tied for 11th individually. The sophomore from Paris, France, is five strokes off the pace set by Steffi Kirchmayr of College of Charleston who carded a 69. Derrey, ranked 24th nationally, had birdies on back-to-back holes, including the par 3 hole No. 3. TCU freshman and Fort Worth native Prisela Campbell posted a 76 with fellow Frog rookie Melissa Loh shooting a 79. Campbell and Loh are two of three freshmen in TCU's 5-player lineup. TCU had a 22-over-par 310 on the day. The Frogs are just four strokes behind 10th place Wake Forest (306). TCU has posted five top-10 finishes in seven tournaments this season.
