ALBUQUERQUE -- TCU sophomore Valentine Derrey has been named the 2008 Mountain West Conference Co-Women's Golfer of the Year.

Derrey, who was also selected to the All-MWC team for the second consecutive season, shares the award with New Mexico sophomore Jodi Ewart.

A native of Paris, France, Derrey is the Horned Frogs' first conference player of the year since Brooke Tull earned the honor three consecutive seasons (2002-04) in Conference USA.

Derrey, ranked 19th nationally by Golfstat, has been named the MWC Women's Golfer of the Month on three occasions (September, October, February) this season. She tops the Frogs with a 75.0 stroke average and has posted TCU's low score in seven of nine tournaments. Her eight top-20 results include four top-10 finishes.

TCU, looking to make its 13th consecutive regional appearance, will learn its postseason fate when the NCAA field is announced April 28.
