COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Nina Munch-Soegaard was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Thursday. The Horned Frogs have garnered three of the last four weekly selections this season.

Munch-Soegaard, a native of Amarillo, Texas, posted a 5-1 overall mark last week to help lead the No. 22 Horned Frogs to wins over No. 62 SMU and No. 73 Texas Tech. Munch-Soegaard defeated two nationally ranked opponents in singles play and a ranked doubles duo over the week.

Against the Mustangs, Munch-Soegaard routed No. 73 Natalia Bubien by a score of 6-1, 6-3 at the top singles position. Munch-Soegaard teamed with Katariina Tuohimaa to topple SMU's 38th-ranked duo of Briceno and Tokarieva by a score of 8-3 to clinch the doubles point in the match.

After winning both singles and doubles contests against No. 73 Texas Tech on Saturday, Munch-Soegaard stunned No. 11 Melanie Gloria of Fresno State on Monday by a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Munch-Soegaard's win brought the Frogs within 3-2 in a match that TCU would end up dropping in a third-set tiebreaker.

The conference award was the second for Munch-Soegaard in her career and the third this season for a Horned Frog, as Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska have also earned the honors.

TCU will meet No. 37 Wake Forest today at 2 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C., beginning a four-match road swing.
