NEW HAVEN, CT - Temple's second round score was only three strokes higher than its first round tally, but the difference dropped the Owls six spots to finish sixth at the Yale Spring Opener on Sunday. Only six strokes separated the top six teams, as TU's 294-297=591 (+31) placed it behind Harvard, Skidmore, Sacred Heart, Drexel and Binghamton.

The event was the first time since The McLaughlin on Sept. 21-22, 2007 that the Owls have fired consecutive sub-300 rounds. The two-round 591 was also a season-best.

Junior Paul Amess (71-75=146) and sophomore Eric Plisko (70-76=146) tied for 14th in the 148-player field with six-over scores. Redshirt freshman Sasha Bozic tied for 29th with a 77-71=148 (+8), while freshman Andrew Mason tied for 50th (76-75=151, +11). Freshman Joseph Kim rounded out the scorecard with a 77-83=160 (+20).

Harvard won the team title with a 296-289=585 (+25) and the Crimson's Michael Shore captured the individual crown with a 73-70=143 (+3).

Temple returns to the links next weekend at the Princeton Invitational.
