New Balance Invitational Results | Bucknell Winter Classic Results

NEW YORK, NY - The Temple men's track team sent competitors to the New Balance Invitational at the New York City Armory and the Bucknell Winter Classic this weekend in its final tune-up for next Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championship. The Owls came away with several individual winners, including sophomore Grant West (weight throw) and freshman Kijaun Wilkinson (triple jump), at Bucknell.

Wilkinson won the triple in a season-best mark of 46-10 1/4 and was an inch short of IC4A qualifying. The distance was the third-best in the conference this season.

West, who has been steadily improving the past few weeks, set a new personal best in winning the weight throw (54-11 1/2) and is also close to IC4A qualifying. Junior Bryce Buffaloe was fourth in the event (52-11 1/2).

Also in the throws, freshman Colin Madison finished third in the shot put 47-9. It was his first appearance for the Owls after joining the team following football season, where the rookie made four starts on the offensive line this fall.

Freshman Idowu Edeki was sixth in the long jump (20-11 1/4) and freshman Maxim Chichkin finished fourth in the pole vault, tying a season-best mark of 14-3 1/4.

At the Armory, senior Marquise Stancil finished 10th in the 500m with an IC4A qualifying time of 1:04.43. Junior Adin Mickle ran a personal-best time of 8:47.77 in the 3000m to place 47th. Junior Jason Sullivan was 53rd in the 800m (1:58.35).

In the long jump, sophomore Tim Boeni was 16th (22-8) and freshman Miles Dryden placed 33rd (21-8). The 4x400 relay also set a season-best and IC4A qualifier in a time of 3:18.08 to finish third.

Temple travels to Rhode Island on Saturday for the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championship.
