Lady Comfort

April 3, 2008

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University senior Lady Comfort was invited to attend the WNBA's Pre-Draft Camp at the University of Tampa April 4-5.  The camp offers coaches and general managers from all 14 WNBA teams an opportunity to evaluate the top young players in advance of the 2008 WNBA Draft set to take place at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla. on April 9.  The prospects will showcase their skills and compete against one another in drills, half court scenarios and full court scrimmages during three on-court sessions.

Comfort led Temple in rebounding (8.4), blocks (38) and field goal percentage (.467) and was second in scoring (9.4).  She was named to the Atlantic 10's Second Team and All-Tournament Team, helping the Owls to an A-10 regular season title, a #1 seed in the Conference Tournament and their fifth straight NCAA Tournament.  She collected seven double-doubles but it was her standout performance against Duquesne on Feb. 17 that really turned heads.  The senior scored 16 points, collected a career-high 18 rebounds and added two blocks to aid in Temple's 74-66 victory. Comfort graduates as Temple's all-time leader in field goal percentage, making nearly 53% of her shots.  She is also sixth on the all-time rebounding and blocks lists with 771 boards and 115 blocks.

Comfort is looking to become Temple's third straight first round draft pick. Candice Dupree was selected sixth overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2006 Draft and Kamesha Hairston went 12th to the Connecticut Sun in last year's draft.

The 2008 WNBA Draft presented by adidas will begin at 1 p.m. ET at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, which is owned by Washington Mystics President and Managing Partner Sheila Johnson, in Palm Harbor, Fla.   ESPN2 will provide exclusive first round coverage of the Draft with continued coverage of the second and third rounds on ESPNU and NBA TV. In addition, WNBA.com will cover all three rounds, providing complete analysis and comprehensive information on all 14 teams' selections.
