Box Score

PHILADELPHIA- Temple's senior class continued to dominate as the Temple women's lacrosse team posted its fourth straight win and remained unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play with an 18-12 victory at LaSalle on Friday afternoon.  Whitney Richards had four goals and four assists, while Berkley Summerlin chipped in with four goals and two assists.  Classmate Nicole Caniglia scored three goals and assisted on three others and Hillary Richards finished with two goals and three assists.  Temple improves to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the A-10, while LaSalle falls to 0-10 and 0-3 in Conference play.

Hillary Richards added an incredible nine draw controls to her performance, while Summerlin led the Owls defensively with four caused turnovers.  Whitney
Richards was nearly flawless, netting four goals on five shots.

Janell Myers contributed two goals, while Chelsea Rosiek, Brittany Hoffman and Ann Stouffer each had one goal a piece.

The Owls dominated first half play, allowing for a 13-5 advantage at the break.  Rosiek wasted no time getting Temple on the board with an unassisted goal just two minutes into the game.  The Explorers answered with back-to-back goals in a 10 second span to take a 2-1 lead but that would be the first and final lead of the game for the home team.  Myers kicked off a three goal TU run after taking a pass from Hillary Richards, that gave Temple a 4-2 lead with just over 23 minutes to play.   LaSalle netted two quick goals yet again to tie the game at four but the Owls quickly regained control.  The Cherry and White went on a 9-1 run, including six straight to end the half with the 13-5 result.

Erika Matthews ended Temple's rout with a goal to open up the second stanza but it was just a hiccup as the Owls scored two more to make it 15-6 with 25:30 remaining.  The teams traded runs for the remainder of the half but the Explorers could get no closer than the 18-12 result.

Bridget McMullan played 30 minutes as TU's starting goalkeeper and had one save, while Jessica Colucci had six saves in 25 minutes of action.  Freshman goalie Katie Phillips made two stops in nearly five and a half minutes of play.  LaSalle goalkeeper Ellen Axelsen had 10 saves in 60 minutes.

Temple takes its unblemished record to Amherst on Sunday when it takes on UMass at 1 p.m.
