2008 Paradise Jam Information and Brackets in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team will be one of eight Division I women's basketball teams competing in the Ninth Annual U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Tournament at the University of the Virgin Islands.

Along with Texas Tech, Baylor, California, Central Florida, Iowa, South Florida, Villanova and Wisconsin will all be competing in the two divisions. The Paradise Jam consists of two separate tournaments - the Island Division and the Reef Division. Each is a four-team, three-game round robin.

The Lady Raiders will play in the Reef Division and face Iowa on Thurs., Nov. 27, at 5 p.m. CST; California on Fri., Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. CST and South Florida on Sat., Nov. 29, at 5 p.m. CST.

Texas Tech returns to the Paradise Jam to defend its 2000 title.

Fans are invited to take part in this tournament by traveling on the Texas Tech team charter with the Lady Raiders. The Lady Raiders are teaming up with the Baylor Lady Bears on the chartered flight to and from the U.S. Virgin Islands. The package includes a charter flight from Lubbock, four-star hotel accommodations for five nights at the Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort, tournament pass to all games, luggage porterage, bus transfers to/from game and airport, and tournament souvenir. Prices do not include trip cancellation insurance, tips and incidentals, meals or transportation to or from departure city.

Fans interested in traveling with the team need to contact Grant Fausset in the women's basketball office at 806-742-7730 by Wed., May 21, to reserve their spot on the trip. Payment in full is due by June 18. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
