Eld-hah Kaswatuka could be the Mavs most athletic player next fall. |

ARLINGTON, Texas - - UT Arlington volleyball coach Diane Seymour has announced the signing of L.D. Bell senior outside hitter Eld-hah Kaswatuka to a national letter-of-intent.
Kaswatuka's signing brings the Mavericks 2008 recruiting class to six players as the Mavericks reload for the fall season. Seymour says Kaswatuka might be not only the most athletic player in the incoming freshman class, but she might be the most athletic on the entire team.
Bell volleyball coach Vicki Griffin wouldn't be surprised.
"Her jumping ability and quickness are pretty impressive," Griffin said. "She is the most athletic player I've ever coached and has an unbelievable amount of potential and raw talent."
The 5-foot-7 right-handed hitter was the District 7-5A Offensive Player of the Year last season for the Blue Raiders. She was a first-team All-District pick sophomore, junior and senior seasons in volleyball. Kaswatuka was also a two-time, first-team All-District 7-5A pick in basketball.
She also placed third in the state in last season's triple jump.
This season, she has qualified for the Class 5A Region I meet in the 100 meters, long jump and triple jump.
Kaswatuka joins five other players who have signed letters-of-intent to join the Mavericks next fall. Also signing with UTA are: Amanda Aguilar of Pearland High School, Tara Frantz from Santa Fe High School, Anna Schepcoff of Houston Clear Lake High School, Alicia Shaffer of Magnolia High School and Emily Shearin of Dallas Woodrow Wilson High School.
"I'm very excited about this class," Seymour said. "We brought in skill, size and athleticism. A few off these girls will contribute right away."
