Littleton Finishes Ninth in USA Indoor Championships

Feb. 24, 2008

UTPA All-American Will Littleton came home with a ninth place finish at the USA Indoor Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston, MA this past Saturday (Feb. 23).

"I was kind of disappointed in Will and I'm sure he was too. Now he has his back against the wall for qualifying for NCAA Indoor Championships; I'm more than sure he'll make the qualifying mark," said head men and women's track and field coach Dennis Darling.

The UTPA senior competed in the high jump and finished with a jump of 6-11.50.

Assistant coach Funmi Jimoh finished third overall unattached in the long jump with a jump of 20-9.25.

"I was excited for her for jumping as well as she did," added Darling.

The men and women's track and field program will be heading off to Laredo, Texas for the Border Olympics which marks the season opener for the outdoor season for the Broncs.
