Austin, Texas - The Texas State men's and women's track and field teams combined for three victories and the top collegiate times in two other events at the Texas Twilight track and field meet on the Michael Myers Track Complex Saturday.

Junior Eric Shepherd won the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 4:04.72, while Valerie Hancock won the women's high jump after clearing a season-best 1.75 meters to edge her teammate Katie Evans by 10 centimeters. Hancock also qualified to compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. Evans registered her season-best mark after clearing 1.65 meters.

Kemuel Morales recorded his fifth win of the season in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.34 meters. Andy Ysebaert was the runner-up in the men's shot with a put of 15.75 meters. Ysebaert also finished second in the discus with a thro of 49.41 meters on his second attempt.

Texas State also had the best collegiate times in both the men's and women's 100-meter dashes. Iris Darrington had a time of 11.88 seconds behind Lacena Golding-Clarke, who won the race in 11.69 seconds while competing unattached.

Desmond Bynum also competed unattached and won the men's 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 10.57 seconds in the first heat. Texas State's Kevin Aje was the runner-up with a wind-aided time of 10.65 seconds in the third heat.
