Steven Siers concluded the week with a 1.12 ERA and grabbed Texas State's first SLC weekly honors.

FRISCO, TX - Texas State senior Steven Siers was named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week after leading the Bobcats to an 11-0 seven-inning victory over Southeastern Louisiana this weekend. The award is the first for Siers and Texas State this season.

Siers threw his first complete game of the season and concluded his 1-0 effort with a 1.12 ERA. The Georgetown native made his first mid-week start against No. 18 Houston and held the Cougars to just two hits and one run before taking on SLU. Siers went on to notch his first-career shutout in the 87-pitch performance against the Lions, retiring 18 consecutive batters to close out the game. Southeastern was held to just one hit and Siers grabbed six strikeouts to aid the victory.

League officials also announced Texas San-Antonio's Trent Lockwood and Northwestern State's Mike Jaworski as Co-Hitters of the Week for their efforts throughout the week.

Texas State will return to the field Tuesday for a two-day series against Texas-Pan American. Both contests are scheduled for 6 p.m. starts.
