SAN MARCOS - Two televised games and a double-header highlight Texas State basketball's upcoming "Get Loud, Be Proud & Go for 3" promotion over the next month, beginning this Thursday night at 7 p.m. when the Bobcat women's team hosts a televised game for the first time in program history.

Fox Sports Southwest will televise Thursday's game that pits Texas State against Stephen F. Austin as the Bobcats try to stay on top of the SLC West Division standings. The Texas State Strutters will provide halftime entertainment. Texas State Athletics will also welcome students from San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District who will attend the game as part of the Bobcats and Books program Texas State Women's Basketball started with the school district in 2007. Texas State and SMCISD are partnering up to "white-out" Strahan Coliseum for the televised game. The first 100 fans to enter the Coliseum will receive a free white t-shirt, but all fans are encouraged to wear their own white shirt to the game.

On February 2, come out and Stuff Strahan to cheer on both Bobcat teams against Sam Houston State in a double-header. The women's game tips at 2 p.m. and includes an exciting halftime performance from dribbling sensations the Dripping Springs P.I.Ps. The men's game will follow at approximately 4 p.m. with welcome sororities from the Pan-Hellenic Council competing to have the largest group attendance. During the men's game you can find Head Coach Doug Davalos participating in the annual "Suits and Sneakers", an annual awareness weekend held every February that empowers basketball coaches to lace up their sneakers to support the Coaches vs. Cancer program, a joint effort by the American Cancer Society and the National Association Basketball Coaches to raise funds and awareness to fight cancer. Davalos encourages all fans to join him, by wearing sneakers to the Stuff Strahan games.

The Bobcat men take their turn on Fox Sports Southwest when they take on Lamar February 16 at Strahan Coliseum. The men's team currently sits in the thick of the SLC race with a 3-3 conference mark. Halftime performances will showcase some of Texas State's many talented students with performances by the Austin Wranglers' Lady Wranglers dance team and the Hip-Hop Congress.

Look for members of the basketball teams, the Hip-Hop Congress and the Loud Crowd promoting the games on campus Jan. 28-31 with free give-a-ways for excited Bobcat Basketball fans.

So Get Loud, Be Proud & Go For 3. Come out and support your Bobcats as they continue on their road to the 2008 Southland Conference Tournament.
