SAN MARCOS - As the final remains of the basketball season come to an end, the Texas State Bobcats will look for a recuperating victory when they travel to Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Wednesday for a second bout with the Islanders. A win will slice a three-game losing streak and give the Bobcats its third road win since the berth of league play, placing them right on the edge of a post-season bid.

The Bobcats are 4-7 in Southland play after dropping a 101-90 decision to Lamar at Strahan Coliseum Saturday, despite a stellar showing from the team. For the game, the `Cats were nearly 82 percent from the free throw line, their best mark of the year. Texas State held LU to a 46-29 advantage on the boards, and forced 18 Cardinal turnovers but came up short at the final buzzer. The last time the Bobcats recorded three straight losses came at the close of non-conference play when they fell to Rice, Texas and Texas A&M.

Matt Fullenwider is on a hot streak for Texas State, posting three-straight noteworthy outings, despite the unfortunate losses. The senior finished with 19 points and three steals against Texas-Arlington followed by a career-matching eight rebounds at McNeese State. Fullenwider followed with a fervent rally at home, tallying 18 points against conference-leader Lamar. He is averaging 56 percent from the field and from three-point range in the past three contests, along with 5.7 rebounds and 13 points.

The Islander's are coming off a big week after taking two SLC road games this week. TAMU-CC beat Nicholls State 50-47 Thursday, before traveling to Southeastern Louisiana and grabbing a 62-56 victory over the Lions.

After Saturday's tilt with SELA, Chris Daniels, who leads the team in scoring, became the all-time leading scorer for A&M-Corpus Christi amassing 1,342 career-points. Daniels earned this week's Player of the Week accolades, his third honor this season, averaging 19 points and 8.5 rebounds the past week. The 7-0 senior is averaging 12.8 points and 6.5 rebounds for the season.

In the team's prior meeting this season, the Islanders took an 82-69 win over the Bobcats at Strahan, giving the team a 3-2 edge on the all-time series. At the time, A&M-Corpus had won just one conference victory, but have gone on to split their season with a 5-5 record. The standing places the Islanders in a fifth place seat, entering the post season.

Tip for Texas State's campaign against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the American Bank Center and will be broadcasted on www.TxStateBobcats.com.
