San Marcos, Texas - The Texas State University men's basketball team returns home to Strahan Coliseum for their final game of the 2007-08 season when the Bobcats play host to the University of Texas-Arlington at 4:00 p.m. on March 8.

Texas State enters the game with a 12-16 overall record and is 5-10 in Southland Conference play after suffering their third straight loss at Sam Houston State last Saturday night. The Bobcats also lost their previous two home games against Stephen F. Austin and Texas-San Antonio after beating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 71-69 in Corpus Christi on Feb. 20.

Texas-Arlington enters Saturday's game with an 18-10 overall record and is 7-8 in league play after winning 75-65 at Stephen F. Austin last Saturday. The Mavericks also suffered a 79-65 loss at Sam Houston State on Feb. 27 after beating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Arlington on Feb. 23.

This marks the second time this season that Texas State will play Sam Houston State and the Bobcats enter the game with an overall series record of 90-75 against the Bearkats. Texas State enters Saturday night's game looking for its first win at Sam Houston since Feb. 24, 2001, when the Bobcats won a 72-69 decision.

Earlier this season at the Texas Hall in Arlington, Jermaine Griffin came off the bench to score 26 points and grab 13 rebounds to lead the Mavericks to a 99-81 victory over the Bobcats. The Mavericks shot 52.5 percent from the field and out-rebounded Texas State by a margin of 53-42.

Three other UTA players scored in double figures and Griffin also blocked four shots. Rog'er Guignard scored 19 points, while Jeremy Smith added 13 and Anthony Vereen netted 11. Larry Posey just missed a double-double performance as he recorded eight points and 12 rebounds for the Mavericks. Senior forward Matt Fullenwider led the Bobcats with 19 points and six rebounds, while Brandon Bush added 13 points and Brandon Thomas netted 11.

This Saturday's game will mark the final home game for three senior members of Texas State's 2007-08 roster as Matt Fullenwider, Brent Holder and Brandon Thomas play their last game as Bobcats. Texas State will honor the trio during a special celebration before the game. Fullenwider is averaging 5.6 points per game, while Holder is scoring 6.5 points per contest and Thomas leads the seniors with a 7.1 average.
