FRISCO - Texas State red-shirt freshman Karrington Bush has been named the Southland Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Bobcats' 45-31 win over Southeastern Louisiana.

The Whitewright native rushed for 179 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries. He tied the game early with an 80-yard touchdown run.

The game marked Bush's fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season. He also had three kickoff returns for 49 yards to give him 232 all-purpose yards on the night.

Bush has now rushed for 866 yards on 101 carries this season. He also has 13 carries out of the backfield for 87 yards.

Bush's recognition marks the second straight week Texas State has had a Southland Conference Player of the Week. Bobcat place kicker Andrew Ireland was named the special teams player of the week last Monday.

The Bobcats play on the road for the last time this season when they travel to Nicholls State on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. Texas State closes out the regular season at home Nov. 15 when it plays host to Sam Houston State.
