The Texas State women's golf team will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas when the Bobcats open their spring schedule at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Islander Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 25-26. The tournament will be played on the 6,093-yard, par-72 course at the Corpus Christi Country Club.

Texas State will be competing against four Southland Conference teams in the tournament. They include the host school, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Lamar, McNeese State and the defending team champion, Sam Houston State. Other teams in the tournament include Texas-Pan American and North Texas.

Texas State opened the 2007-08 season winning Nebraska's Chip-N Club Invitational and finished in third place at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational last Fall. The Bobcats also finished in ninth place at New Mexico State's Give Em Five Intercollegiate and in seventh place at Texas State's Challenge at Wolfdancer last fall.
