Ragan Blake went 2-0 with wins over No. 18 Baylor and New Mexico to win SLC Pitcher of the Week honors.

FRISCO - Texas State's Ragan Blake won her second SLC Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2008 season and sixth overall after posting a 2-0 record, including win over No. 18 Baylor, last week. McNeese State's Jenny Clay was named SLC Hitter of the Week after batting over .800 in six games while leading the Cowgirls to a 5-1 record.

Bobcat first baseman/designated player McKenzie Baack also earned an honorable mention for Hitter of the Week after collecting four hits in seven at bats with a home run to help lead Texas State to a 3-0 record last week.

Pitcher of the Week:

Blake picked up a pair of nonconference wins on the week, beginning with a complete game victory at No. 18 Baylor. Blake allowed only one earned run to the Bears on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. She then threw another complete game win over New Mexico, holding an offense that had scored 15 runs the previous day against UTSA to three runs on five hits. She also struck out seven Lobos, raising her total on the year to 125 punch outs.

Hitter of the Week:
Jenny Clay, McNeese State

Clay helped the Cowgirls to a 5-1 record on the week and picked up two Southland Conference series victories with wins over Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to improve to 8-7 in league play. For the week, Clay produced a .824 batting average with 14 hits in 17 at bats, six doubles, one triple and three home runs. She also had nine RBI and scored seven runs. In the Cowgirls final game of the series against Texas A&M-CC, Clay missed hitting for the cycle by a home run.
