FRISCO - Texas State softball senior pitcher Ragan Blake was named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week after leading the Bobcats to a 3-0 series sweep at conference rival UTSA last weekend.

Blake went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA and 12 strikeouts against the Roadrunners, first pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts in a 5-1 win, allowing just three hits and two walks. In the series finale, Blake held the UTSA offense to two hits in a 4-0 shutout win, striking out five. So far this season, Blake is 12-8 with a 2.50 ERA and 128 strikeouts.

The wins also helped Texas State increase its lead in the SLC standings to 2.5 games over Stephen F. Austin, who jumped ahead of UTSA into second place.

Texas'Arlington's Amanda Swofford was named Hitter of the Week while Bobcat first baseman Leah Boatright earned an honorable mention. Boatright recorded six hits against the Roadrunners, including four doubles and a game-winning two-run home run.

The Bobcats travel to Texas Tech for a doubleheader on Tuesday before returning home for a weekend series against Northwestern State.
