Women's Tennis Loses 6-1 to Cal State-Northridge

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Texas State women's tennis team (5-6, 2-2 SLC) dropped its first match on its trip west to California with a 6-1 loss to Cal State Northridge (7-2, 4-0 BWC). The Bobcats were swept in the doubles point and fell behind 2-0 in the match after Andrea Giraldo lost a close 7-6 (3), 7-5 match in the No. 1 singles spot to Victoria Brymer. Texas State's lone point of the day came in the No. 3 position, where Ali Gulida defeated Sandra Kukla 6-2, 0-6, 10-4. Rabea Hartmann and Ashley Ellis were both absent from the Texas State line up in singles play. Ellis did pair with Lainy Chafitz to lose the No. 2 doubles match 8-2 while Hartmann, who had won five of her last six matches, sat out entirely. The 'Cats conclude their trip west against UC-Riverside before traveling to Rice on March 22. DOUBLES SINGLES
