SAN MARCOS - Texas State volleyball fans can enjoy a full day of Bobcat action on March 29 with two separate events as the Bobcats host their annual spring tournament at 9 a.m. before holding the annual volleyball banquet at 6 p.m.

A potential rematch of Texas State's 2007 NCAA First Round duel with Texas could occur as the Longhorns will be one of seven teams competing in Strahan Coliseum. Fellow Southland Conference member Lamar will also make the trip as well as Houston, Incarnate Word, West Texas A&M and St. Edwards.

The annual volleyball awards dinner and banquet will begin at 6 p.m. in the Maroon and Gold room. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by contacting Associate Head Coach Tracy Smith at 512.245.8780 by March 25.

All-Southland Conference selections Amy Weigle (First Team), Lawrencia Brown (Second Team), Emily Jones (Honorable Mention) and Melinda Cave (Honorable Mention) will be honored for their achievements. Brown will also join AJ Watlington and Jessica Weynand in receiving their SLC All-Tournament Team awards.

The banquet will also feature a special tribute to senior Brandy St. Francis, a highlight video of the 2007 season, Bobcat team awards and player responses.
