Dayne Comrie Wins 200 Meters at Cal Poly InvitationalMarch 29, 2008
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- UC Irvine senior Dayne Comrie won the 200 meters with a time of 21.85 at the Cal Poly Invitational Saturday in San Luis Obispo. Teammate Oliver Plattner placed second in 21.95. The Anteaters' Matt Lahti finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 174-7 ¼ for the fifth-best mark in school history. He placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 46-7 ¼. George Hernandez finished second in the 400 meters (49.24), Ryan Hershey was third in the high jump at 6-4 ¾, and Justin Carter also picked up a third-place finish in the triple jump at 45-2 ¾. In women's competition, UCI's Candice Proctor was second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:18.61. Alisha Misiata finished third in the shot put (48-6 ¼), fourth in the discus throw (149-2 ½) and fifth in the hammer throw (143-11 ½). Madeline Leduc had fourth-place showings in the long jump (17-3 ¼) and the triple jump at 38-6 ½ as she improved on her fifth-best mark in UCI history.
