Collins, Misiata Compete This Weekend in Nebraska

Duo represents UCI at 33rd annual meet

HUSKER INVITATIONAL IN LINCOLN: UC Irvine junior Lauren Collins and sophomore Alisha Misiata compete this weekend (Feb. 1-2) in the 33rd annual Frank Sevigne Husker Indoor Track & Field Invitational.

Collins competes in the pentathlon Friday and Misiata in the shot put Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.

Collins won the Big West Conference heptathlon last spring with a school-record total of 5,512 points. She placed second in the pentathlon with 3,963 points at the 2007 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships.

Misiata set the school record in the shot put with a mark of 47-10 in finishing fourth at the Big West Conference Outdoor Championships.
