UC Irvine Travels To Fresno State Invitational

Anteaters begin spring schedule

ANTEATERS BEGIN SPRING SEASON AT FRESNO STATE  INVITATIONAL: UC Irvine will open the spring season at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational next Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 25-26) at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.

Participating teams include Boise State, Colorado State, Hawaii, Kansas, Long Beach State, USF, Nevada, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Tulsa, UC Davis, Portland State and host Bulldogs.

The Anteaters won the tournament in 2006 with Selaneé Henderson earning medalist honors.

FALL RECAP: UCI won the the 19-team Lady Aztec Fall Classic at the Salt Creek Golf Course with sophomore Patty Chawalitmetha winning her first career tournament. Chawalitmetha became the fourth Anteater women's player (Selaneé Henderson, Stella Lee, Walailak Satarak) to earn medalist honors. It was the 12th tournament title in program history.

Following the fall schedule, senior Kim Lorenzana leads the squad with a 76.00 scoring average. Lorenzana was the only Anteater to post two top 10 finishes, placing third at the Lady Aztec Invitational (148) and sixth USF Invitational (225).
