ANTEATERS TRAVELS TO SACRAMENTO STATE INVITATIONAL NEXT: UC Irvine will travel to the Western Regional Preview March 31- April 1 at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club.
Lincoln Hills is the site of the 2008 NCAA West Regional May 8-10.
Participating teams include Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, Eastern Washington, Denver, Idaho, San Francisco, UNLV, Northern Arizona, Fresno State, Nevada, San Diego State, UC Davis, Colorado, Oregon, Washington State and host Sacramento State.
HENDERSON WINS SIXTH TITLE AT SPARTAN INVITATIONAL: Senior Selaneé Henderson won her sixth career title taking medalist honors at the Spartan Invitational. Henderson became the only player in the tournament's history to win the individual title twice as she also won in 2007. Henderson carded a 54-hole total of 218 (71-71-75) finishing two shots ahead of California's Pia Halbig.
As a team, UC Irvine finished third in the 15-team field with a three-round total of 906 (298-302-306), seven shots behind California who won tournament with a score of 899. Host San Jose State was second at 904.
Senior Kim Lorenzana was ninth with a score of 226 (72-77-77), her third top 10 finish of the season. Sophomore Patty Chawalitmetha was 27th with a total of 231 (76-78-77), while freshman Hillary Packard finished in 29th position after a 54-hole total of 232 (79-76-77) and sophomore Henna Cho was 38th with a score of 236 (80-77-79).
