NO. 6 SAN DIEGO STATE BEATS NO. 15 MICHIGAN 11-9

IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 6 San Diego State defeated No. 15 Michigan 11-9 at the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational Saturday at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

San Diego State led 9-8 heading into the fourth quarter and had goals by Danielle Pelke and Becca Ur to open a 11-8 advantage with 4:17remaining. SDSU goalie Heather Fenske had three of her 12 saves down the stretch as Michigan would only score with 12 seconds to go for the 11-9 Aztec victory.
