NO. 1 UCLA BEATS NO. 5 CALIFORNIA 9-4

IRVINE, Calif. - No. 1 UCLA defeated No. 5 California 9-4 Sunday at the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

The Bruins took a 5-1 lead with 3:06 remaining in the first half. The Golden Bears then scored three unanswered goals to get within one goal at 5-4 with 54 seconds left in the third period. UCLA scored four goals in the final period to seal the victory.

UCLA advances to the championship match at 5:15 p.m. and Cal will play in the third place match at 4:00 p.m. at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
