NO. 6 SAN DIEGO STATE BEATS NO. 8 ARIZONA STATE 7-5; FINISHES 9TH

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - No. 6 San Diego State beat No. 8 Arizona State 7-5 in the ninth place match Sunday at the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational at Corona del Mar High School.

The match was tied at 3-3 with 6:25 left in third period. Arizona State then scored twice to take a 5-3 lead with 5:10 left in the third period. San Diego State then scored four unanswered goals to end the match with a 7-5 victory.
