Feb. 12, 2008

Gaucho Round-Up Time Schedule Get Acrobat Reader

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The UCSB Track and Field team will open their season this Saturday, February 15, against Pepperdine, Claremont, and Westmont. The meet will be held at Pauley Track on the UCSB campus, and will be the first of two home meets for the Gauchos this season.

Two Conference Champions will be returning for the Gauchos this year, with Bethany Nickless looking to defend her title in the steeplechase, and Jeff Stewart looking to defend his title in the shot put. This is just the beginning of a long year for them and the rest of the Gaucho squad, but all of the athletes will be hoping to get their seasons rolling with a fast start.

The meet is sponsored by Woodstock's Pizza and will begin at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw. Field events will continue to be staged throughout the duration of the meet. Races will kick-off at noon with the 4x100m relay, and will run until about 2:30.

The time schedule may be adjusted if the number of entries causes multiple heats/flights. Check out the attached PDF file for the full schedule of events.
