Chris Ashley became the Big West's newest champion in both the 5000m and 10,000m races at the conference championships last week in Northridge.

Less than 24 hours after winning the 10,000m, Ashley ran a commanding 5000m to win his second title in as many races.

For Ashley, a senior from San Mateo, Calif., the championships were the first in his Gaucho career.

Ashley and several other Gauchos will head back to Northridge for the NCAA Regionals May 30-31.
