SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate basketball team will wrap up its swing in Florida on Monday at 7 p.m. when it travels to Stetson for an Atlantic Sun Conference match. The Spartans are making a four-hour trip to from Florida's West coast where they played Florida Gulf Coast on Monday and will play Monday's game just a half-hour from the East coast. Upstate, at 4-19 and 0-10 in the A-Sun, is looking to snap a 13-game winless stretch. The team is getting solid offensive support from sophomore Courtney Hawkins, who is second in the conference in scoring at 14.7 points per game, and junior Ebony Johnson, who has posted back-to-back 10-rebound games. Stetson, who is 4-19 overall and 2-8 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, enters the Monday's game looking for its first win in four games after taking a 73-62 loss at the hands of ETSU on Saturday. Led by Sharnesha Smith, who averages 9.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, the Hatters are last in the conference, averaging 53.4 points per game. Freshman Tierra Brown averages 8.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and Kellie Olson has hit 22 3-pointers this season. This is the first meeting between the two schools. Spartan Notables |
