SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate women's basketball team will look to rebound from a close 63-57 loss to Belmont on Saturday on Monday night when Lipscomb pays a visit to the Hodge Center. Upstate, which enters the game 4-21 overall and 0-12 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, is coming off a narrow loss to defending conference champs, Belmont, on Saturday. The team is led by sophomore Courtney Hawkins, who is second in the league in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game and freshman Tiffany Whiting, who has two 3-pointers in each of the last three games. Lipscomb enters Monday's game at 6-20 overall and 4-8 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The team is led by Katie Rollins, who averages 10.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Jillian Partin adds 8.8 points and 6.3 rebounds and two other players also average six or more points per game. The Lady Bisons have fallen in four straight games, including an 89-65 loss to ETSU on Saturday afternoon. Jenna Bartsokas led the Bisons with 14 points and three rebounds against ETSU. Partin also posted 12 points and seven rebounds. The Lady Bisons won the first meeting against the Spartans this year, an 82-47 loss to Upstate on Jan. 21. Spartan Notables |
