TAMPA, Fla. - The Atlantic Sun Conference-leading USC Upstate women's tennis team, fresh off an emotional win to take the conference lead against Jacksonville on Saturday, fell on Sunday morning to 41st-ranked South Florida, 7-0, at the USF Varsity Courts. Upstate falls to 14-3 overall while South Florida improves to 15-5 overall.

Junior Anna Novo (Caracas, Venezuela/El-Angel) put a scare into the 61st-ranked Janette Bejlkova at the No. 1 singles slot, winning the first set 6-3 before falling 6-3 in the second set and 10-7 in the super-set tiebreaker.

Upstate still has the inside track to becoming the first team in school history to win an Atlantic Sun Conference regular season championship, standing at 8-0 with three conference matches remaining, as they host Garner-Webb (Friday, 2:30 p.m.) and Campbell (Saturday, 10 a.m.) before traveling to second-place ETSU (Wednesday, April 9) to wrap up the season.
