The Peacock baseball wrapped up their home season in style as they raced out to a 10-1 lead en route to their 10-5 victory over Quincy. The Hawks gave up fourteen hits to the Peacocks and committed four errors. Andy Seabrooke was very good on the mound for UIU as he threw 8.1 innings allowing four runs, only one of which was earned, on six hits. Seabrooke, who made his final start on the hill in Fayette, walked three, but struck out 8 Hawk batters. Seth Fox had a three-rbi double in the fourth inning to help Upper Iowa jump out to a 8-1 lead. Travis Mather hit 3-3 with with an rbi and two runs scored. Nick Fjelland and Ryan Arp, both seniors in their final game at Robertson Woods Field, tallied two hits apiece on the day. The Peacocks are now 26-23 overall. The team will wrap up their regular season this weekend in Bismarck, N.D. The Peacocks will match up with the Marauders of the University of Mary in a four-game, NSIC series. Both doubleheaders this weekend will begin at noon. UIU is 21-7 in the NSIC and sits in second place in the standings. |
