The Upper Iowa women's tennis team traveled to Hilton Head, South Carolina over spring break and competed in five matches. The Peacocks won three matches against Olivet, East Stroudsburg, and Baldwin Wallace while dropping two matches to Kutztown and Slippery Rock. A sixth match began between Upper Iowa and Missouri Valley, but after the Peacocks took all three doubles contests, the skies opened up and rain cancelled the rest of the match. Upper Iowa picked up a 9-0 victory over Olivet in the first match over break. UIU won eight of the nine contests convincingly. Jennifer Bradfield rallied at number singles to win in three sets to complete the Peacock sweep. Upper Iowa won their second match of the trip when they defeated East Stroudsburg 5-4. The Peacocks trailed 2-1 after the doubles contests, but picked up wins at #1, #3, #5, and #6 singles to secure the victory. Three of the four UIU singles wins were three set victories. The Peacocks grabbed their third straight win against Baldwin Wallace, 5-4. Upper Iowa led the Yellow Jackets 2-1 after the doubles session thanks to Bradfield and Kasey Huisman's 9-8 (7-2) win at #1 doubles. UIU and BW split the singles contests with the Peacocks scoring victories at #1, #2, and #4. UIU suffered their first defeat of spring break against Kutztown, the #9 ranked team in the East Region. The Peacocks led 2-1 after winning the #1 and #2 doubles matches while only falling 9-8 (7-4) at #3. The Peacocks struggled in singles winning only two contests. Kelsey Montgomery and Nicole Henry were the only victors for Upper Iowa as the Peacocks fell 5-4. Upper Iowa closed their spring trip off with a matchup with the tennis powerhouse, Slippery Rock. Upper Iowa picked up their only win at #3 doubles losing all six singles contests in straight sets. The Peacocks will host the Warriors of Winona State in Waterloo on Friday, Mar. 21, at 3:30 at the Blackhawk Tennis Center. Spring Break Records:
