Green Declares For NBA Draft, Won't Hire Agent
April 26, 2008
CHAPEL HILL - University of North Carolina forward Danny Green has declared for the NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent. Green, a junior from North Babylon, N.Y., was Carolina's fourth-leading scorer at 11.5 points per game in 2007-08. Green becomes the third Tar Heel in the last two days to declare for the NBA Draft but not sign with an agent, joining Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington. Green has compiled 871 points and 412 rebounds in three seasons, averaging 8.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He led the team as a junior in free throw percentage at .873 and was second in three-point field goals made with 56. He is 10th all-time in blocked shots at UNC with 104. "Danny and his father contacted me in the last 24 hours and indicated they
wished to test the waters and enter Danny in the draft," says head coach Roy
Williams. "We have done the necessary paperwork to do that."
