Tar Heels Close Home Slate With The Citadel, Campbell

Feb. 21, 2008

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In its final tune-up before the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, North Carolina will host The Citadel and Campbell in wrestling action Saturday at Carmichael Auditorium. The Tar Heels (8-6) will face the Bulldogs (5-7) at 1 p.m. before meeting the Camels (2-19-1) at 3 p.m.

Carolina seniors Drew Forshey and Jake Forestiere will be honored in between matches. Forshey is the Tar Heels' normal starter at 125 pounds but will miss his third straight weekend with an ankle injury.

UNC is coming off a one-point loss at 22nd-ranked Pittsburgh despite having to forfeit at 125. The Tar Heels' loss at Ohio last weekend was voided earlier this week since no referees were present, and assistant coaches were forced to officiate the match.

No. 11 Keegan Mueller and No. 20 Justin Dobies, both juniors, continue to pace the Carolina squad. At 165, Mueller is 24-3 and has won his last 18 matches dating back to last Nov. 30. Dobies is 24-6 at heavyweight and recorded his third win over a nationally-ranked opponent against the Panthers. Mueller and Dobies are a combined 27-1 in dual action.

Additionally, junior 197-pounder Dennis Drury has won seven of his last eight bouts, including four major decisions over this stretch. He brings a 16-10 record and a 9-3 mark in duals into the weekend.

After Saturday's action, the Tar Heels will break for two weeks to prep for the ACC Championships set for March 8 in College Park, Md.
