KINGSTON, R.I. -- Will Daniels is one of 22 of the nation's top senior student-athletes who will take part in the 2008 NABC All-Star Game, sponsored by DiGiorno. Daniels is the first Rhode Island player to ever be selected for the prestigious event.

The game - which serves as a tip-off for the NCAA Final Four weekend activities - will be played on Friday, April 4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

For the first time in the all-star game's long history, it will be held on the same court as the NCAA Final Four. Additionally, CBS College Sports network (formerly CSTV) will broadcast the contest live, beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

Daniels will be playing for the National All-Stars, coached by Oliver Purnell of Clemson. Along with Daniels, the National squad features an impressive cast of graduating seniors including: Jonathan Wallace (Georgetown), Marcelus Kemp (Nevada), Cliff Hammonds (Clemson), DeMarcus Nelson (Duke), Ramel Bradley (Kentucky), Shan Foster (Vanderbilt), Aleks Maric (Nebraska), Josh Duncan (Xavier), Joe Jones (Texas A&M), and Jason Thompson (Rider).

The American All-Stars, coached by Dave Odom of South Carolina, will feature the following players: Sundiata Gaines (Georgia), Mike Green (Butler), Jaycee Carroll (Utah State), Robert McKiver (Houston), Robbie Cowgill (Washington State), Alex Harris (UCSB), James Gist (Maryland), Charles Rhodes (Mississippi State), Brian Butch (Wisconsin), Brian Randle (Illinois), and David Padgett (Louisville).

He finished his career with 1,678 points and 662 rebounds. This past season, Daniels led URI and ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game. He also registered 6.5 rebounds, good for second on the squad and 11th in the conference. The Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native became the first URI player since Tyson Wheeler (1996-97, 1997-98) and just the third URI player all-time to earn First Team All-A-10 honors in consecutive seasons.
