Ari Confesor begins his third season in 2011 at the University of Rhode Island and his second as the wide receivers coach. In his first season as the University's wide receivers coach, Confessor oversaw a group that combined for 194 receptions, 1,876 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He also coached Anthony Baskerville to All-CAA Third Team honors. In 2010, Baskerville posted team highs among receivers with 48 receptions, 500 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Baskerville's all-league selection came after a two-year stretch at Dean College where he played quarterback. During the 2009 campaign, Confesor served as the assistant secondary coach where he helped direct a secondary unit that produced 11 interceptions. The Rhode Island native returns to the offensive side of the ball where he experienced a tremendous amount of success as a student-athlete at Holy Cross. During his collegiate career, Confesor earned Second Team Sports Network All-America and First Team All-New England honors in both the 2002 and 2003 seasons. In addition, Confesor was named team Most Valuable Player as a senior and finished his career with the most receiving yards in school history (2,352). He also owns school records for most receptions in a single season (90) and most receiving yards in a single season (1,213). In the spring of 2004, Confesor earned his degree in political science.
