The University of Rhode Island football team visited a Monsignor Matthew F Clarke elementary school on Friday afternoon and participated in its annual Autism Walk Sunday morning.

The Rams - who held their annual blue-white Spring Game on Saturday afternoon - spent time with youngsters during recess on Friday afternoon, throwing the pigskin around and signing autographs.

The autism walk, meanwhile, was held at Goddard Park in Warwick, R.I. The Walk was followed by a Family Fun Day where The Autism Project of Rhode Island hosts activities and events appropriate for autism and special needs children. Last year's event drew in over 5,000 participants.

The Autism Project of Rhode Island is a unique collaboration of parents and professionals whose mission is to develop a comprehensive system of care and resources that meet the needs of children and adults with autism and their families including education, health, vocational, career, and social and community needs. For more information, please visit www.theautismproject.org.

With spring ball compete, head coach Darren Rizzi and the Rams will participate in the Fifth Quarter Club Golf Tournament on Friday, June 13. For more information, visit the link below.
