Senior wins discuas at UCLA RJ/JJK Invite, while sophomore bats .636 with 11 RBI

Kate Hutchinson and Grant Green were named the USC Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (April 14) for the week of April 6-13.

Hutchinson of the women's track and field team won the women's open discus competition at the UCLA Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invite on April 11 with a season-best throw of 172-4. The redshirt senior sat out last season after setting the school record in the discus of 189-5 in 2006.

The Trojan's shortstop Green helped lead USC to a 3-1 week by batting .688 (11-for-16) with a 1.188 slugging percentage and a .737 onbase percentage. The sophomore had at least two RBI in each game and totaled 11 for the week, while slugging two homers and a triple.
