Trojans Enjoy A Good Day At The Pacific Coast Intercollegiate|

Christian Sourapas won the men's 200m dash and Dominic Smallwood the men's long jump to lead the Trojans at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Meet hosted by Long Beach State in Long Beach, Calif. today (April 13). In addition, three Trojans competed in the hammer throw to kickoff three big days of action at the Mt. SAC Relays in Cerritos, Calif.
Jason Kim began the day's action for the Trojans placing 18th in the men's hammer throw with a PR of 153-8 (46.85m). It was his second consecutive week with a hammer throw personal best.
Daniel Norwitz competing in his first collegiate meet had a no-height in the men's high jump. He opened at 6-5.50 (1.97m) and just grazed the bar on his final attempt.
Lopes then took second in the women's high jump with a clearance of 5-7.75 (1.72m) which tied her PR. Alexa Harmon-Thomas cleared 5-4.25 (1.62m) to place tied for eighth.
Dominic Smallwood won the men's long jump with a best leap of 24-7.25/7.50m (+2.5w), while Jadon Joyner placed seventh with a best jump of 22-7.25/6.89m (+1.4).
Michael Gonzalez tied for ninth in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 15-7.00 (4.75m).
Mecca McGlaston opened her outdoor season by winning her heat and taking fourth overall with a time of 13.66 (+2.3w) in the women's 100m hurdles. Former Trojan athlete Melia Cox tied for first with a time of 13.28 (+4.7w).
Kennedy Gillian opened up her outdoor season by running 57.25 to win her heat and place eighth overall in the women's 400m dash.
Christian Sourapas won his heat and tied for second overall in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.64 (+4.6w). Alexander Barnum took second in the same heat and fourth overall with a wind-aided PR of 10.66 (4.6w).
Kamryn Weber had a season-best time of 2:15.12 to place second in her heat and 18th overall in the women's 800m race.
Alex Rohani finished fifth in his heat and overall with a time of 1:51.76 in the men's 800m race. Mitchell Cameron was second in his heat and 14th overall with a time of 1:56.66, Joshua Zavala was third in his heat and 15th overall with a time of 1:56.83, Matthew Myrtue was seventh in his heat and 21st overall with a time of 1;58.82 and Garrett Mack was eighth in his heat and 24th overall with a time of 2:14.66.
Christian Sourapas and Alexander Barnum closed out the meet in style for the Trojans taking first and second in the men's 200m dash. Sourapas won his heat and was first overall with a PR of 21.06 (+0.3), while Barnum won his heat and was second overall with a wind-aided PR of 21.22 (+2.3w).
at Mt. SAC:
David Sellens placed eighth in the men's hammer throw with a best mark of 189-3 (57.69m).
Tanya Sapa took 18th in the women's hammer throw with a best throw of 162-8 (49.59m), while Brittany Mann had fouls on all three attempts.
