USC T&F Travels To UCLA For Annual Dual Meet

    The No. 7-ranked USC women's team and the No. 23-ranked men's team will compete at the annual USC-UCLA Dual Meet in Westwood, Calif. on May 1. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and on the track with the women's steeplechase at 12:30 p.m. The crosstown rivaly will air live on the Pac-12 Network beginning at 2 p.m. with the men's high jump and women's triple jump, followed by the women's 400m. UCLA's men are ranked No. 16 and the Bruin women are currently unranked.

    DUAL MEET HISTORY - USC's men's team leads UCLA 43-39 all-time in the Dual Meet, while the Trojan women trail 22-10. USC posted a sweep last season with the men winning 82-81 and the women winning 93-70. USC's women's team has won 7 of the last 8 Dual Meets, while the Trojan men's victory snapped a 4-year losing streak. A USC male has won the 100m dash the last 13 years and the 200m race 12 of the last 13 seasons. A Trojan woman has won the 100m dash 13 of the last 14 seasons and the last 7 Dual Meet 200m races. USC's women's 4x100m relay has been victorious at the last 11 Dual Meets.

    LAST WEEK AT THE TRITON INVITATIONAL - Tera Novy placed 5th in the women's invitational discus throw with a mark of 196-10, the third meet in the last four over 196 feet. Nathan Bultman was 19th in the men's invitational discus throw with a PR of 181-3. In the men's invitational shot put, Nick Ponzio had a season-best throw of 63-8.75 to place 6th. Jenna Tong was 2nd (10:50.66) and Katerina Berdousi 6th (PR of 11:05.54) in the women's 3000m SC. Rebekah Ent was 12th in the women's 800m with season-best of 2:12.24.

    TOP 30 TROJANS - In the early season, USC has 18 athletes and relays which have posted 23 top 30 marks in the country. Women: Ellis (5th - 400m), Gaither (T-16th - 100m, 10th - 200m), Graham (30th - 100m HH), Hill (T-16th - 100m, T-4th - 200m), Iuel (8th - 400m IH, 10th - Hep.), Jones (10th - LJ), Novy (2nd - DT), Sapa (26th - SP), Stepter (29th - 200m, 2nd - 400m, 4th - 400m IH), 4x100m (9th) and 4x400m (5th). Men: Cunningham (3rd - HJ), Ford (25th - 800m), Jackson (14th - LJ), Katnik (21st - SP), Morgan (9th - 400m), Ponzio (9th - SP), Sloan (15th - LJ).

    NEXT WEEK: - Amalie Iuel and Lyndsey Lopes are expected to compete at the Pac-12 Multi-Events Championships in Seattle, Wash. The rest of the team will train through in preparation for the 2016 Pac-12 Championships hosted by Washington in Seattle, Wash. on May 14-15.
