Sophomore Katherine Ellis was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 women's track and field/cross country second team it was announced on June 5.

Ellis, from Vancouver, Wash., has a 3.87 grade-point average in Engineering at USC. Last week Ellis was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic first team.

Ellis had a strong sophomore cross country campaign and followed that up during track season with the seventh-fastest women's 3000m steeplechase in USC history with a time of 11:19.07 at the Occidental Track Meet on May 10.
