USC Has 13 Athletes Named To Pac-12 T&F All-Academic Teams

    Senior Thea Weiss was named a Pac-12 First Team All-Academic selection for the third consecutive season.

    USC had 13 student-athletes named to the 2014 Pac-12 Track & Field All-Academic teams led by first-team selections of sophomore Jaide Stepter and senior Thea Weiss, it was announced by the conference today (June 19).

    Stepter, the 2014 Pac-12 400m hurdles champion, was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team as she sports a 3.86 GPA in Communications with a minor in Animation and Digital Arts. Stepter went on to reach the 400m IH NCAA quarterfinals this season and ran in the NCAA semifinals on USC's All-American 4x400m relay team. Stepter ranks fourth all-time on the USC 400m IH list with a time of 56.99.

    The pole vaulter Weiss was named to the first team for the third consecutive season. She posted a cumulative GPA of 3.95 in a double major of Neuroscience and English. Weiss completed her USC athletic career ranked sixth all-time in the pole vault with a clearance of 12-4.50 (3.77m).

    The Trojans had one selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team in senior Doug Bogie who had a 3.47 GPA in Business Administration & Policy, Planning and Development.

    The 10 Trojans named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention were: sophomore Errin Baynes, junior Charity Bruce, junior Alexandra Collatz, sophomore Lauren Grego, sophomore Felicia Horvath, junior BeeJay Lee, senior Ashley Liverpool, sophomore Will Robinson, junior Kira Soderstrom and sophomore Jenna Tong.
